FIRE Not combustible but enhances combustion of other substances. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO contact with combustible substances.
Water in large amounts.
EXPLOSION Risk of fire and explosion on contact with combustible, organic or other easily oxidizable materials.

In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST!

  • INHALATION
    		• Cough. Sore throat.
    		Local exhaust or breathing protection.
    		Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
  • SKIN
    		• Redness.
    		Protective gloves.
    		First rinse with plenty of water, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again. Refer for medical attention.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain.
    		Face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Abdominal pain. Diarrhoea. Nausea. Vomiting. Oliguria. Hearing loss.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Do NOT wash away into sewer. Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Do NOT absorb in saw-dust or other combustible absorbents (extra personal protection: P3 filter respirator for toxic particles).
    		Separated from combustible and reducing substances, and powdered metals.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
     WHITE CRYSTALS OR POWDER.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing toxic and corrosive fumes including bromine, and oxygen , which increases fire hazard. The substance is a strong oxidant and reacts violently with combustible and reducing materials, metal powder, fats, carbon, sulphur, phosphorus, ammonium salts, and metal sulphides causing fire and explosion hazard.

    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     A harmful contamination of the air will be reached rather slowly on evaporation of this substance at 20░C.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the kidneys, gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system by ingestion. The effects may be delayed.

    EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
     This substance is possibly carcinogenic to humans.
